When the mating season arrives in Spring, the snowy egrets take on a rather bizarre and punkish look. They land on tree branches that look like they would not support the weight of the bird, so the birds flap their wings to gain balance once they have landed on their perch. I tried to capture this moment of precarious balance and the wild punk rock look.

George Harth lives in Medina, OH, and spends the winters painting in Bonita Springs, FL. He began painting watercolors during high school in Leavenworth, Kansas. George started developing his love of art, at the age of thirteen, while taking private drawing lessons. He grew into watercolor painting and experienced early success. At the age of fifteen, George placed first in the Leavenworth Annual Art Exhibit of 1960. George has been called a Renaissance Man by many of his acquaintances because of his many interests and talents which include writing, photography, painting, and an occasional invention.
